What would you do if a colleague were bleeding badly and the ambulance was still minutes away? When help is not immediately available, what happens in the first minutes determines the outcome.
In a business, Ordinance 3 to the Labour Act (ArGV 3) requires adequate first aid provision, scaled to the hazards, the size and the location of the operation, and prescribes no particular supplier. This course can complement a company first aid concept; it does not replace it.
On your premises, the first response is whoever is already standing there. They are the ones who bridge the time before the ambulance arrives.
In security work your people are first on scene by definition. That is not a question of training planning, it is the job.
In forestry, agriculture, hunting and in terrain, professional help takes longer to arrive, and the first response falls to whoever is present.
That is what this course is for. Not a medical career and not a replacement for the emergency services: the minutes before they arrive, and what you do with them.
DTD Trauma Essentials
Participants learn to carry out a rapid trauma assessment using a simplified MARCH approach, identify immediately life-threatening injuries, apply basic interventions for haemorrhage, airway and chest trauma, recognise shock and deterioration, prevent hypothermia, and initiate evacuation or handover to higher care.
This is an essentials course by design. No time is spent on procedures that sound impressive but change little in the first minutes. The focus is on the interventions that actually alter the outcome.
The medical content is informed by the point-of-injury guidelines as set out in TCCC and TECC. This is not a tactical course: nothing is practised with weapons or under threat.

Who it is for
Security companies and their staff
Whoever is first on scene bridges the time until the ambulance arrives. Those are the minutes this course covers.
Businesses
Ordinance 3 to the Labour Act (ArGV 3) requires adequate first aid provision but prescribes no particular supplier. Where people work with machinery, tools or vehicles, training beyond the standard makes sense.
Swiss authorities and emergency organisations
For units that are already trained we run a capability validation instead of the basic course, in Switzerland.
People beyond quick help
Forestry, agriculture, hunting, working and moving in terrain. Professional help takes longer to arrive there, and the first response falls to whoever is present.
No prior knowledge is required. Courses for police, military and state security services are Swiss only and run in Switzerland. We do not train foreign police, military or state security services, and we do not train anyone to provide private security services outside Switzerland.
Realistic simulation
We work with real moulage, simulated blood and prepared clothing. The injuries you treat look like the ones you will meet.
Casualties are played by people who have done it many times and know how an injured person behaves. That is the difference between a training dummy and a situation that puts you under pressure.
The first minutes belong to
whoever is already there
SECO's guidance to Article 36 of Ordinance 3 to the Labour Act (ArGV 3) states that for serious injuries, the goal is for first aiders to reach the scene within three minutes of the event. A separate benchmark applies to the ambulance service: 15 minutes in 90 percent of urgent cases, measured from the time of the emergency call.
The ambulance service in Switzerland is fast and good. It is in those first minutes that the people already there can make the difference.
How we teach
We teach in small groups, because skills only stick through repetition. Practice is on training aids and in realistic, scenario-based exercises, not on a projector.
We come to you on request, within Switzerland. For companies and authorities we build the course around your procedures and your equipment.
What you receive
On full attendance you receive a certificate of completion from DTD Systems GmbH stating the course, the date, the course hours and the content covered.
This training can complement a company first aid concept. It is not a first aid course recognised by the Swiss Federal Roads Office (ASTRA), it does not replace the first aid course required to obtain a Swiss driving licence, and it is not an IVR First Aid level. We hold no accreditation from any body; the curriculum is informed by the publicly available TCCC and TECC guidelines and adapted by DTD Systems for the training objectives of this course. This course is an educational and practical training course: DTD Systems GmbH does not provide emergency medical services, patient care or ambulance services.
For units that are already trained
On request we deliver a Combat Life Saver capability validation for Swiss units and organisations that are already trained and want to check and align their procedures. It runs in Switzerland, for service in Switzerland.
FAQ
Do I need prior knowledge?
No. The course starts at the fundamentals and builds from there.
How long are the courses?
Four hours to two days, depending on the format. Scope and dates are listed with the courses on this page.
Where does the course take place?
On request at the client's premises in Switzerland. For open courses we announce the location with the course itself.
What language is it taught in?
English. The two-day course in German and English.
Is the course suitable for private individuals?
Yes. No prior knowledge is needed and the course assumes no professional role.
Is the course accredited?
No. We hold no accreditation from any body. The curriculum is informed by the publicly available TCCC and TECC guidelines and adapted by DTD Systems for the training objectives of this course. You receive a certificate of completion from DTD Systems GmbH.
Is this an official Stop the Bleed course?
No. Stop the Bleed is a programme of the American College of Surgeons. DTD is not a registered Stop the Bleed training centre, and this course does not issue its certificate. The bleeding control content of DTD Trauma Essentials teaches the same core techniques, tourniquet and wound packing; the curriculum is informed by the publicly available TCCC and TECC guidelines.
What certificate do participants receive?
A certificate of completion issued by DTD Systems GmbH. It states the name, the course, the date, the course hours, the content covered and the guidelines the content is informed by, and it is signed for DTD Systems GmbH. It is our own certificate and not an accreditation from another body.
Does the course replace a Nothelferkurs?
No. It is not a first aid course recognised by the Swiss Federal Roads Office (ASTRA), it does not replace the first aid course required to obtain a Swiss driving licence, and it is not an IVR First Aid level.
Is this a tactical course?
No. The medical content comes from point-of-injury care as described in TCCC and TECC, but it is practised without weapons and without a threat situation. Anyone looking for tactical training in the narrow sense will not find it with us at present.
Will DTD come to us?
Yes, on request, within Switzerland. For companies and authorities we train on site and build the course around your procedures and your equipment.
