DTD Universal Strobe Battery Pack (USBP)

DTD Universal Strobe Battery Pack (USBP)

The USBP does two jobs from the back of your helmet. First, power: it feeds a night vision device through a Fischer port, or other ports via the relevant adaptor cable, runs on ordinary AA batteries, and carries circuit protection against short circuits and high-voltage impulses, with automatic voltage adjustment and stabilisation matched to battery voltage. Second, balance: it mounts at the rear, where its ergonomic shape counterweights the device at the front and eases the burden on the head and neck over long sessions.

Then there is the additional job: two powerful IR strobes, visible at long range to friendly aviation and ground teams, for identifying your position and for search and rescue work at night. The strobes keep working even when battery power is extremely low, and the pack runs as a standalone strobe if that is all you need.

The casing is a patented polymer, fire resistant and sealed to the IP67 standard against water and dust. Ask us before ordering if unsure about fitment with your device's power port. The USBP does not fit the Jerry family.

Questions before you buy

Which devices can it power?

Any device that accepts external power through a Fischer port connects directly; others connect through the relevant adaptor cable, such as the BNVD Fischer right-angle cable for BNVS-style ports. Send us your device model if unsure about fitment.

What are the IR strobes for?

Signalling at night: the two IR strobes identify your position to friendly aviation and ground teams at long range and support search and rescue. They keep working when battery power is extremely low, and the pack can run as a standalone strobe.

Why mount it on the helmet?

The pack is shaped to sit at the back of the helmet, where it counterweights the night vision device at the front and eases the burden on the head and neck in long use.

Export and delivery

Night vision and thermal devices ship to Switzerland, Liechtenstein and EU/Schengen countries only. Deliveries outside Switzerland and Liechtenstein require a signed End User Certificate: after payment we send you the certificate, you sign and return it, we complete Swiss export clearance, and your device is dispatched with tracking. If clearance cannot be obtained for your country, the order is refunded in full. Spare parts and accessories are not controlled goods: they ship without a certificate. Collection at the Villmergen showroom, by appointment, is free of charge.
