About Us
We are a small outfit in Switzerland, all of us former French Foreign Legion. We sell night vision and spend an unreasonable amount of time thinking about it.
Why we started
The idea behind DTD was never complicated. Night vision has spent most of its life priced for armies and agencies, which puts it out of reach of the person who reads about it, watches the footage, and quietly wants one of their own. That person is who this was started for.
We did not invent any of it. The technology is not ours and the platforms are long established. What we can do is keep the price as close to the build as we can, explain the choice honestly instead of selling upwards, and make it realistic for an ordinary person in Switzerland or Europe to own a device that genuinely works, without needing a uniform or a procurement budget to justify it.
That is still the measure. If somebody who has wanted one for years can finally buy one, and is not disappointed the first time they look through it, we have done the job properly.
Who we are
All of us served in the French Foreign Legion. That background is useful, mostly because it taught us the difference between equipment that works at three in the morning and equipment that looks good in a catalogue. It is not the story we lead with, and we are not going to sell you anything on the strength of it.
What actually keeps us here is simpler. There is a moment, the first time someone looks through a good tube on a properly dark night, where they go quiet for a second. We have seen it plenty of times and it has not got old yet.
How we sell
We would rather talk you into the right device than the expensive one. If a monocular does what you need, we will say so. If the tube you are looking at is more than your use case justifies, we will tell you that too, and we will still be here when you want to upgrade.
Ask us anything, at any level of detail. Nobody here minds explaining figure of merit for the hundredth time, and there is no such thing as a question that is too basic.
What we offer
Night vision and thermal equipment from our own DTD and Jerry lines, built to the configuration you choose. Devices for individuals, and procurement support for organisations equipping a team. We handle the export paperwork, and we keep supporting the kit after it has left the building.
Medical
The newest part of the house. DTD teaches emergency care for severe injuries, to the TCCC and TECC guidelines, weapons free and in small groups: the first minutes, before the ambulance arrives. It is taught the way we sell, plainly and without theatre.
Consulting
Not everyone arrives knowing what they need, and the honest answer often depends on details a product page cannot cover. We advise directly, tailored to what you are actually trying to do: which configuration suits your conditions, how it should sit on your helmet, what is worth paying for and what is not, and how to equip a group without buying the same mistake several times over.

The showroom in Villmergen is open by appointment, and honestly it is the best way to do this. Bring your helmet. Bring whatever you already own. We will put a few devices in front of you in a dark room and you can decide for yourself.
