Warranty

Warranty

Every product we sell carries a two-year warranty from the day it is delivered to you. That applies to devices, accessories and apparel alike, and to customers in Switzerland, Liechtenstein and the EU and Schengen area.

What it covers

Faults in materials, components or workmanship, and any failure of the product to be what we described or to perform as you could reasonably expect.

For night vision devices this includes the image intensifier tube, the housing, the optics and the electronics.

What it does not cover

Fair wear and tear, including cosmetic marks from normal field use.

Accidental damage, impact, immersion beyond the stated rating, and damage caused by transport after the device has left our care.

Misuse, or use outside the operating instructions supplied with the device.

Unauthorised modification, disassembly or repair by anyone other than us or a service partner we have named.

Damage to an image intensifier tube caused by exposing it to bright light in breach of the operating instructions. This is the single most common avoidable failure, and the instructions supplied with your device explain how to avoid it.

Batteries and consumables, which are covered for six months.

How to make a claim

Email info@dtdsystems.ch with your order number, a description of the fault and, where it helps, a photograph or a short video through the eyepiece.

We will tell you whether to send the device in or bring it to the showroom in Villmergen. Do not ship anything back before we have confirmed the arrangement, because devices returning from outside Switzerland have to be handled correctly for customs and, for controlled devices, for export licensing.

We repair where a repair restores the device properly. Where it does not, we replace. Where neither is possible within a reasonable time, you are entitled to a price reduction or to cancel the purchase.

A valid claim costs you nothing: repair, replacement and the carriage both ways are ours.

Manufacturer warranties

Some components carry a manufacturer warranty of their own. Where one exists it runs alongside this warranty and does not reduce it. You are always free to claim against us directly, and we would rather you did, because we handle the manufacturer relationship better than you can.

Your statutory rights

This warranty sits on top of your rights in law and takes nothing away from them.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU or EEA, Directive (EU) 2019/771 gives you a minimum two-year guarantee of conformity. If you are a consumer resident in Switzerland, Art. 210 of the Swiss Code of Obligations gives you two years for goods bought for personal or family use, and that period cannot be shortened.

We have set our warranty to match that floor across every market, so you get the same two years wherever you are.
